Meet Ryan and Anna, our next story in our forever series of couples who’ve found love (and where we – Bashford Jewelry – got a play a tiny part in their story)

Ryan and Anna’s story is nothing short of a fairytale romance that’s a great story for them to tell years to come.

Q. How did the two of you meet?

Anna- (Laughing) now that’s a funny story. It was the day I moved into a new apartment. I was on the elevator about to head out for groceries and I happened to look up and see Ryan heading to the elevator. I had just taken up the stuff I had on the floor for the garbage outside so I couldn’t reach the button in time to hold it. I felt awful.

Ryan- Almost an hour later, I’m in the supermarket and who walks by (laughing). She comes over to explain and I said no problem. You can make it up to me by having dinner with me.

Anna- I still don’t know why I said yes, but I know I wasn’t in the mood to cook so we went out to dinner. We enjoyed each other’s company and just kept going out.

Q. Ryan, when did you know you were going to propose?

Ryan- It was weird. We were out having drinks one night and she laughed at a joke I made. I just looked at her and thought I want to spend the rest of my life with this wonderful woman.

Q. Anna, when did you know he was your forever after?

Anna- It wasn’t too long after we started dating. It was just the little things. He was so thoughtful and kind, always thinking about my happiness.

And he was just so always serious. So I decided I would be the sunshine in his days and keep him smiling.

Q. How did you go about choosing when and where to propose?

Ryan- I proposed on a beach in Florida. We had gone down for vacation and I took the engagement ring with me. I didn’t plan on asking in Florida but felt like taking it just in case.

Anna- I was even the one who suggested a sunset walk on the beach. The weather was perfect, and we were alone for the most part just watching the waves roll in.

Then Ryan got down on one knee, told me he loved me, and asked if I’d spend forever with him. Still my favorite moment of all time.

Ryan- Even though we have been dating for a while and have even discussed marriage in passing, I was still so nervous. It was the greatest feeling when she said yes.

Q. What type of ring did you choose?

Ryan- Anna has a serious thing for dolphins. So, I knew I wanted to incorporate something like that in the design. When I found out that Bashford Jewelry did fully custom pieces, I knew I could make that dream come through.

So, I contacted Bashford with my request. They walked me through what I need to get them – like the ring size. So I got everything together and we agreed on the final design based on my very poor initial sketches.

Anna- The ring was absolutely stunning. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it, that he included such an important part of who I was.

It was just perfect.
